MISSION
|
|
Real-Time Coordination and Distributed Interaction System. This interdisciplinary research aims at handling coordination and interaction challenges using systems engineering methodologies. The underlying approach is to exploit in an integrated manner the dynamical couplings that exist between the users, the physical systems as well as the communication and information processing layers to improve the quality of services in real-time applications. Innovative domains of deployment are telematics, teleoperation of mechatronic systems, autonomous transportation systems and eLearning.

BIOGRAPHIE
|
Denis Gillet received the Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) in 1988, and the Ph.D. degree in Information Systems also from the EPFL in 1995. During 1992 he was appointed as Research Fellow at the Information Systems Laboratory of Stanford University in the United States. He is currently Maître d'enseignement et de recherche (Associate Professor) at the EPFL School of Engineering, where he leads the ReAct multi-disciplinary research group. His current research interests include Technologies Enhanced Learning (TEL) and Human Computer Interaction (HCI), as well as Optimal Coordination and Hierarchical Control of Complex and Distributed Systems. Dr. Gillet is Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Learning Technoloigies (TLT) and of the International Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning. During the academic year 2005-2006 he was on sabbatical leave as Visiting Scholar at the Faculty of Engineering, Chinese University of Hong Kong.
